California Highway Patrol deployed surveillance flights to observe marches and rallies

Recently, the ACLU of Northern California released footage they obtained of California Highway Patrol surveilling anti-racist protests in Berkeley, Oakland, Palo Alto, Sacramento, and San Francisco, among others. The ACLU also reports this use of aerial surveillance likely cost taxpayers millions of dollars that were spent in May and June of 2020.
